The countdown is on…. Half term is just around the corner and for a lot of us this means a ski holiday, with children involved this means military manoeuvres each morning getting everyone to the slopes.
But, are you ready, are your muscles ready and even more important are our nerves ready. This is where yoga comes into its own, you have 2 weeks to attune your body and mind and tap into you inner energy plus feel less stress with all the holiday crowds. Remember, yogis are centered, present and balanced.
Think when you are moving through your poses to hold for a few deep breaths on each move, make sure you include a warrior pose in your practice as this builds strength in the feet, ankles and knees, it stretches your hips and builds focus. Finally, after a day on the slopes stretch out with a pigeon pose which will help you in injury prevention as it will open up the hip flexors and muscles which are often tight after a full day on the slopes.
Finally, don’t forget to breath in all that fresh mountain air - Namaste
