Following on from last week, as you know I am looking at ways to detox our bodies to regain some energy and passion, improve our sleep and to feel fabulous. Last week I talked about adding a forward bend twist to my morning sun salutation. A gentle pose to wake up our bodies and start a gentle detox after the madness of Christmas. This week I am taking the twist a step further.
Yoga is a fabulous way to get our system working, it means you don’t have to spend days fasting. Practicing yoga regularly will help the body get rid of waste and toxins.
Twists are excellent for detoxing the body and today lets look at the revolved chair pose, this is a pose we do all the time in my classes, a simple, but powerful pose.
This pose improves circulation, relieves mental sluggishness. However, more than this it is a superb deep twist that aids digestion, puts gentle pressure on our kidneys, liver and spleen which in turn removes toxins.
Sometimes the simple moves have big benefits.
