We all know that yoga gets our blood flowing, you have heard me say it all the time in my practice, when we do a twisted pose how it releases the venous blood from our internal organs which allows oxygenated blood to flow in once the twist is released, plus when we do headstands or shoulderstands how it encourages blood flow through our hearts which then pumps fresh oxygenated blood through our system. However, did you know that it can also improve your bodies circulation, which in turn helps all sorts of problems like fluid retention to swelling in our legs or knees. Yoga gets our hearts pumping and the blood flowing. Stretching, relaxation and deep breathing techniques have a positive impact on heart, blood circulation and blood pressure.
“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self”
